I am getting a new car in a few weeks, and it has a aux connector for an ipod to go through the stereo. I do need a lead though, can anyone guide me with what I need and where to get it from. Sorry for the stupidity but still on with just CD's at the moment, it is a VW car.

Also does anyone know where to get the boot trays from as the dealer seems a bit steep.

Many Thanks

Ebay is your friend! The Aux connector if not iPod specific will probably be a 3.5mm jack. So you need iPod to 3.5mm jack.

What car, age and model is it specifically?

It is a VW Scirocco, and will be on a 60 plate, (Work Car)

I picked up something like this from Media Markt in Germany (it was quite a bit cheaper though)

Monster Aux and Charger Package

This allows you to plug the iPod into the car stereo and the charger at the same time.

Maybe have a look on eBay for something similar.

Of course, you could just buy the 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack cable and a normal car charger.

It's good.

Reg,

You'll be pleased to know that you get the lead with the car. Plus one for connecting a USB device.
I'm lucky enough to own a candy white Scirocco. You will love it.

Dave

Ebay for mine (HTC Desire to BMW Aux plug) - about a fiver. Worth getting a reasonable one if you can - not the cheapest.

Nice car BTW - I like Sciroccos a lot.

Currys, Dixons, Comet and Argos if you can't find local shops and don't want to wait.

I got both leads with my Golf, guess is would be the same for the Scirocco? Just make sure the dealer gives you them when you collect the car, I had to ask for the iPod lead (apparently some dealers 'forget' to leave them in the car so you only get the usb one)
