It's a great idea. Any chance of having them in a resolution not aimed at 56k modem users?*

*ZING!

That looks like Mac OS Old. How's the screen licking going?

Well, at least it doesn't have the flaw in the captcha *ahem* forum has where you can spot the scan and therefore type eg-"buttocks" into every other field.

While we're at it - what about introducing comedy wordfilters [seeing as we clearly have wordfilters]?

A friend of mine who codes explained the issue with captcha - you only have to write a script that rips the captcha image and displays it to another real person with the proviso that "If you fill in this captcha you can have a picture of boobies" - in 2 seconds you get your captchas solved and just queue it into the system you've written to submit it back to the desired page.

Set that up and all the schtickposting you like is your reward.

Proviso - I don't know how to do this - I just write "buttocks" in one of the boxes

We already have comedy word filters.

Is that a Jasper Carrott Gag?

You know, I think you might be right.

Is that the go ahead for making jokes about any group with a disability or impairment or is just mods that are allowed to do that? 🙂

I thought 'jokes' didn't need any go ahead.

Do you want my answer or an official one?

My view on humour is that either anyone / anything is fair game or nothing is, and where you run into massive problems is as soon as you start trying to find a middle ground. Given free rein, I'd go with the former. However, my personal view is not intended to be representative of STW policy (if so far as we have a 'policy' in any sort of meaningful fashion).

You're probably right in that I shouldn't have posted that, but I figured it was fairly gentle in the grand scheme of things.

Perhaps that particular joke is ok as it's listed.

(-: I don't claim to always be original.

I've got a script embedded in the website which will install an applet onto your PC. It all installs silently so you don't need to worry about it; it should be finished as we speak. In future, any post you make to any website will require you to complete a short CAPTCHA test.

Text-based CAPTCHA is less of a priority for Mac users because most of them only draw pictures.

Ah, so you are trolling.

You should read it - it probably details a bit about humour being funny. An important distinction, I think.

No, phone users will have to enter a convenient 18-digit numerical PIN instead.

Of course it's a joke.

As you can see from the screenshot, we're only implementing it for Apple clients.

It seems to have adversely affected the OP, yes.
