don't buy anything chunky or that folds down into a big rectangle, they're too heavy and take up to much room in your boot! anyway, you'll only replace it with an umbrella style pushchair (mclaren) shortly after so my advice to you would be to look at ones like that.

i did buy a mamas and papas umbrella style travel system but the frame warped pretty quick. mclaren is the way forward, they do them for new borns.

What aleigh said. I think there is a maclaren one which lies flat for when they're brand new and a car seat can attach to it. Get that one.

We loved our Quinny Buzz bought it second hand, used for both our kids, was light enough for my wife to fold and put in the boot of her puma after she had a caesarean, Customer service is ace when the gas spring broke, the manufacturer fixed it under warranty and upgraded the brakes free of charge!

yep^^^britax vigour 3...ours has done lots of beaches and bits of the pembs coast path. it's ace and lasting well, we're using it for littlelister#2 now and it's good as new.

nice touch is the pushchair bit can face forward or back, and the car seat clips on for quick trips into the shops etc.

They are all a bit of a compromise a bit like bikes 🙂

Our Quinny looks great, the different seat attatchments work great, it folds fairly small and is easy to use. But IME several bits have dropped off and any offroading leaves the front wheel needing to be stripped and regreased or it won't turn a corner whilst out shopping (by offroading I mean dragging across sticky ploughed fields in January!).

A car seat that just clips straight out of the isofix base (maxicosi onto quinney base) in the car and onto the pram is awesome if you don't want to wake the little-un up if he/she has fallen asleep in the car.

I'm not a massive fan of our Quinny but it does seem to do some things particularly well.

Are you sure you want one at all? We never owned a pram or a pushchair for our little girl, and now she's six.
Keep then close to their parents, there are loads of good carrying options these days..

We used this one:
HAUCK INFINITY 3IN1 PUSHCHAIR PRAM BUGGY TRAVEL SYSTEM

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HAUCK-INFINITY-3IN1-PUSHCHAIR-PRAM-BUGGY-TRAVEL-SYSTEM_W0QQitemZ250260614882QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Baby_BabyTravel_Pushchairs_GL?hash=item3a44b1eee2&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1121|240%3A1318|301%3A0|293%3A1|294%3A50

It was brilliant, everything you could possible need for less than Mother Care wanted for the exact same but a lot cheaper! I would buy another in a flash. A little bulky in a boot but we had a Clio at the time and if you pop the wheels out it fitted no bother. Sold it on for £150 a couple of years later so not bad value either.

We looked and looked. Which? Magazine put Quinny Speedi as best offroader, so that's what we went for. Got it for about £100 cheaper than RRP by looking around on the net.

Jane Powertrack 360 or slalom. Lightest rugged frame on market. Fits in the boot of a Mini with wheels removed. Front disc brake and adjustable rear suspension. Comes with pump attached. Matrix is a lie flat or sit up removeable car seat (bit heavy but very versatile). Converts to pram later on. Goes most places with a bit of effort. Job done.

we almost got a Jane, but happened to see a Which magazine at the in-laws with car seat reviews.

They had had to put the Jane car seat in a separate text box to highlight how awful and dangerous they thought it was...which is how we found the Britax.

We have two child carrying devices. A Maclaren XLR mentioned above and a Chariot for off road duties:

[img] [/img]

Both are excellent for their intended use, i.e. going to the shops and popping the car seat on top (Maclaren), going on an off road adventure on foot or being towed behind a bike (Chariot). Although with the Chariot you shouldn't jog or tow your baby until it is at least a month old and it has grown out of the baby bivvy attachment. The XLR would be pants off road and the Chariot is a bit too big to go to the corner shop and you can't attach the car seat to it.

Both of these bits of kit are uber expensive; we were fortunate enough to be able to buy the Chariot in Canada, where they are made and therefore a lot cheaper that in the UK, and the Maclaren was a gift from doting Grandparents. Neither are particularly compact but fortunately we have an estate car which swallows them up.

Would I buy them again? Absolutely. The Chariot is a cycling parent dream come true. (brakes, suspension, cartridge bearings in the wheels etc.)

Sure is. It was pretty much half price in Canada, so still pretty expensive.

went for a 2nd hand bugaboo chameleon - looked at the quinny equvalent which was nice, but the bugaboo won as it was alot lighter (having to drag it up and downstairs to our flat would have been impossible with the quinny, way too heavy (plus I cant sat quinny with a straight face...)

liked the integration with the maxi cosy car seat - very useful and folded up reasobaly small

graduated to a folder for lighter duties/leaving at nursery buggy, but still use the bugaboo alot - its easier to push as you dont trip over the back wheels - if you are tall watch out for ones with short handles, as you will find it interferes with your stride (I am only 6ft and ourr little buggy is a pain in the arris for this)

we've got a Maclaren MX3 it's ****ing 'A' and suitable from birth. When TRHjnr was first born we used a Mamas'n'Papas seat thingy which clipped into the car base and also into the buggy. DON'T BUY A TRAVEL SYSTEM. imo they're too big and the cost doesn't justify the expense
