Just having a grump.

My hardtail is on it's last legs, and I just sold all the other bits and pieces of full sus to fund a deposit on a new bike. Just as I am a few days from going in to put the order in wham - solicitors bill for the last 6 months comes in and there goes all my hard won funds.

So - staying on the shonky bike for some time longer it would seem.

I guess on the plus side the ex hasn't bothered to sign the paperwork yet for the financial agreement and looks in no hurry to do so which would absolutely clear me out before Christmas financially... and leave me over the festive period with no sofas, tv or dining table, and would almost certainly throw a spanner in the works for the wedding in Ireland in the spring too. Can't see her doing so any time soon either as she does seem to take an age to do anything (it did take about 2 years to get divorce after all, and then the financial settlement stalling until mediation, then stalling again as signing a document to get the money seems to be such hard work - thus far this has taken another 10 months so far and probably going to go well over the year mark). So it isn't all bad.

But man I need a new bike which doesn't fall to pieces and require extensive trail side repairs on every ride. Maybe after the winter things will ease up a little more. Then again... they probably won't.

Although on the bright side, just had the results from an x-ray and my knee is not arthritic, just needs some physio or possibly acupuncture... and some weight loss would be good.

Which kinda feeds into the needing a new bike thing really.

Oh well.

When my ex did this I got my solicitor to issue some thing (forget what it was), but basically said that she pays if stalling/forgetting to sign stuff etc. Hurried her up.

She does like to drag it on. And can do as she is on legal aid, and I am not - so I have had several thousand pounds of legal bills and she has the state pay.

Still... legal aid finishes soon for stuff like this, so that may speed things up a bit. Sure she would just love an £8k bill for it going to court (which is the estimate I have had).

Allow me to help save you some money by not wasting it on pseudoscience crap like acupuncture. 😉

Sorry to hear about the rest of the situation though.
