2nd series of Andor starts on the 22nd(April) so I shall be watching that.

Just hope they stick to the double episode format to start off.

Over the weekend I finally watched Rye Lane on Disney+. Lovely film, like a modern London version of When Harry Met Sally.

Also watching Last One Laughing and... it's good but patchy, I'd say. E2, excellent. E3, not so much; and I think it's cause it splits into funny comedians (Sara Pascoe, Rob Beckett, Bob Mortimer) and "funny" comedians (Joe Whatsit, the one in the blue dress, Richard Ayoade). Like the other comedians are cracking up as they do some lame effort, but I just don't get it

No mention of the new Black Mirror series appearing on Netflix? First ep is brilliant.

Then found out my partner hadn't watched ANY Black Mirror, so we went back to Ep1, Series 1 - the Pig molesting PM. So good. Should keep us occupied for a few weeks going through all 7 series!

I need to be in the right mood for that having seen the start last week, but definitely one to watch.

Can't wait for Andor - distinct lack of brain out action entertainment at the moment.

North of North on netflix as an amusing 30 minute filler for people who love in/near artic circle shows, people and landscapes (contains an actress from the last True Detective and 12 Pines).

Resident alien - I'm watching but not recommending, I like how Alan Tudyk manages to look like someone wearing a human, but there are few other odd things that just don't quite gel together about it, the acceptance of how odd he is from the nurse, the Sheriff is just plain odd.

A real pain, enjoyed it and thought Kieran Culkin was excellent, aided by a great writer/director/main actor. The featurette on the making after was interesting too.

It's a comedy. The characters are supposed to be oddballs. I thought it was quite amusing, probably not everyone's cup of tea.

Reminds me - Im doing the bandersnatch interactive movie from that series. Just started so only made a couple of choices(opted for Frosties) But despite the great series, and unusual format, I feel its going to drag on a bit

I enjoyed the first series alot, but I'm not sure I want to watch the second series and sully it. I watched ep1 of s2, it's like the original writers were given the heave ho and whole new load brought in. The sheriff has got all sweary all of a sudden and the mayor and his wife have developed a kink. Which is a bit cringe. Plus the lake by the cabin went very obviously green screen. Hmmm.

yep but skipped that and went straight to the retro 90's computer game one 😂 (which was awesome)

I watched the first couple of episodes; it was OK and I could probably happily carry on watching it - but I won't! Too much good telly, too little time, it does not make the cut unfortunately!! Would agree he's well cast though.

Watched the end of White Lotus - compelling TV as usual, although not quite as good as the first two seasons I think.

mrsZilog is watching the latest season of Handmaid's Tale, she's enjoying it. It never really grabbed me so I'm not bothering, strange as I normally really like post-apocalyptic/society breakdown etc stuff.

The second season of The Last of Us started on Sky yesterday. Essentially just setting up the charachters and plot for the rest of the story but a good episode. It'll be interesting to see how they deal with the main event which takes place early in the game.

I've also watched most of the new Black Mirror now, some really good episodes but not really breaking any new ground.

And ends up where you fear it's heading.  Brooker at his best.

Apparently there are two versions of Bête Noir in circulation with subtle differences.

I enjoyed daredevill born again this week on disney+, apart from the fact that they have blatantly spilt a single season into two and aren't releasing the second half until next year.

We enjoyed it. Important to remember that it’s not a documentary. Funny line when Michael and Diane are in the pool -

Her - oh I’m getting horny

Him - I’ve got a lump in my trunks

Her - front or back ?

There’s a good new Scandi noir on Netflix - The Glass Dome. Nasty events in a small Swedish town. Really good atmosphere.

The Nightingale has recently gone up for free. It was on my mind for days after seeing it at the cinema.

Hope this doesn't break the forum. I'll delete it if it does:

And just finished The Departed, also free on Prime. Somehow completely missed this Scorsese film until now - what a cast!

Severance on Apple TV and Mobland on Paramount are both superb.

Tom Hardy in Havoc is brain off stupid ultraviolent fun, I quite liked it.

Forget Mission Impossible, and go watch Lost Bullet 1 2 and 3 on Netflix. Flying cars, flying bikes. No cgi as far as I known. The stunts are just stunning.

Yeah, I read a review of those, they look like a lot of fun.

I watched The Gorge not so long ago, and really enjoyed it, intelligent SF with good characters and good interaction between the leads.
Something else I’ve read about recently that looks like tremendous fun is Murderbot, on Apple TV, a security android that hacks its own control systems and only wants to watch things on TV.

Slow Horses has a new series coming up, as does Black Doves, although that’s a little way ahead, but at least it’s been green lit.

Actually I find myself watching itv more and more. Latest is Malpractice, which I suspect is wildly unrealistic, but still entertaining.

I came across Poker Face at the start of the week and then ended up watching the whole of series one and then watched the first episode of series 2 Friday. Been enjoying it, even though I do find her a very odd character.

Struggling to believe we watched the same film! Maybe if I was 15 and hadn't seen all the scifi I've watched over the last thirty five years. It was a ridiculous plot!

Can I recommend the new Bergerac on U&Yesterday.

It’s not going to blow your socks off but as police dramas go it’s pretty decent. Only six episodes too. Shows potential and season 2 is in the works.

Pokerface is excellent, although I think in the second series they might have gone a bit heavy on the Columbo aping.

Still love it though.

Watched Mandy on Prime on Saturday night. A 1980s-set psychedelic horror movie with Nic Cage.

If you like the sound of that, you'll probably love it. Absolutely bonkers.

I should have known when I saw it sitting at #1 on Netflix that it was a gamble, but son#2 and myself decided to give it a go.

Jeezy peeps, that was proper garbage 😐 .

Maybe if we had had our brains removed ,loaded in to a centrifuge, then put make in place, it may have been acceptable 😉 🤣 🤣

Tom,Tim and Forest, what were you thinking of 😕
