Which is better, for streaming only?
this old chestnut? 🙂
both are pretty crap compared to DVD service, however to summarise for you, netflix is marginally less crap, especially since you can use a Chrome plugin which adds IMDB/Rotten Tomato ratings to the film summary so you fully understand just how crap most of the films are.
I have a sub to both and it offers just enough to keep me happy (the foreign film selections are actually quite good)
we got a free 3 month sub to netflix with virgin- didn't bother keeping it at the end of the free period as there never seemed to be anything current to watch- great if you want old series or films, but stuff seemed to take ages to come out
went back to bit torrent 🙂
I like Lovefilm and I also like Netflix. But which is better? There's only one way to find out.......

Personally I prefer Netflix because they have a lot more TV series on, but then I've not tried Lovefilm for 2 or 3 years or so. Maybe it's better now but I struggled to find stuff to watch. As someone said above, neither will have new releases straight away if that bothers you.
Whichever one has the stuff you want to watch. I think both let you browse without needing an account. Lots of films and most TV stuff is exclusive to one or the other so you'll need both if you must have everything.
Both are better for TV series than films IME - I think the rights holders are more easy going about licencing them for streaming.
Love Film is now owned by Amazon and from what I can gather they have pushed back release dates of movie rentals in favour trying to sell more copies.
Release dates were always longer than Blockbuster but now it's worse and with very little other options.
Neither. If you're streaming then go blinkbox.
iTunes, BT Vision & Youview
Netflix is better by far. If you get bored of Netflix, just go to overplay.net and pay $5 a month to open up Netflix internationally. The US one is great for TV shows but I prefer the Canadian one for recent films (Prometheus for example).
Lovefilm is only good if you're on a disc package.
Couldn't believe how bad love film is. Net flicks is OK, although just using it for Breaking Bad at the moment. Which is worth £5 a month on it's own
House of Cards (Netflix) is good
