New tyres for the old Bonnie are required. I'm not up to scratch on what are good and what are to be avoided.

Sizes required are:

Rear - 100/90H18

Front - 90/90H18

It only gets out in summer now and doesn't cover too many miles so I want the stickiest tyres I can get for a not too steep price.

So far I have seen Bridgestone BT45 and Maxxis - are Maxxis motorcycle tyres any good?

What can you reccomend?

Thanks

angela needs such size of rubber that the only tyres that fits are BT45. They are ok to be fair. Not sure abut maxxis. Life time of BT45 is around 6000-7000 kms.

But that is because I am not THAT careful about them.

I'm hearing good things about the BT45's. Any ideas as to where is best for price? I need to order online as I can't find anyone who stocks these sizes up here...

Never tried BT45s but I'm a big Bridgestone fan. Used BT021s on my VFR750, now use BT016s on my ZX6R. Nice grippy predictable tyres with a decent life.

BT45 excellent on my commando, were great on the Z650 I had too, lots of people like the latest Avon Roadriders too.
Will not go wrong with BT45

As most of the others have said - BT45's. That's what I run on my XBR500 and I've BT10's and 20's on the other bikes.

Thanks people,

I used to run Avon Roadrunners but they are no longer available and I was wondering about the Roadriders....

Well, BT45's it is. From reading reviews it seems nothing is quite as good.

I even found a local backstreet motorcycle shop who can get me them cheaper than I can find on the net.

Result.

Cheers
