For the last 13 years I have suffered from neck and back pain, due to various accidents, and my job. I have seen physiotherapists, an osteopath, and I have done Pilates on and off for the last few years. Although all have helped a bit none really seem to make that much difference.
I don't like taking painkillers, as I don't believe they do anything other than hide the problem, so my question is, is there anything else I can try?

Well that's exactly what they do hence the name. ๐Ÿ˜€

Find a physio that specialises is back and neck pain, do you have the pain all the time or is there something that triggers it?

It's pretty constant pain, but it is made worse by doing various things at work.

Although I've never had bad or chronic pain, all my niggling aches/pains disappeared after I started doing regular, proper (barbell) weight training. I guess the pilates might have the same sort of strengthening effect on the body, it doesn't sound like you've been very consistant with that though.

Please note: I am not a doctor/physio/osteo/etc. and am not to be held responsible if your spine explodes.

Acupuncture? Even NICE have grudgingly admitted it may have some benefits for back pain (lower back only but having had acupuncture for other conditions and feeling the benefits worth a try?)

Get your GP to refer you to the pain management clinic at your local hospital.

Err you're right I haven't been particularly constant with the pilates but even when I was going every week for about 8 months I still didn't feel it was doing enough.

Tried the acupuncture route but not for me, I'm a wimp and passed out when they started twisting the needles. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Only surgery/physio/new chair/osteopath/losing weight/gaining muscle/hypnotism/acupuncture/stronger drugs/change of job/kittens/yoga/magic/antibiotics/cheese/riding more/Kylie can properly fix it.

One of those might be true, but I'm not a doctor and you haven't told us what's wrong with it, only that it hurts.

Stop doing those things. HTH.

Your job shouldn't be affecting your health. I don't know what you do, but there may be things you can change to improve it. Have you spoken to any HR / H&S types about it?
