My wife is in labour.

How much money has she stolen then?????

Just kidding! Good luck and there is nothing more you can do now. Your work has already been done! 😉

brace yourself 🙂

Best of luck!

And don't forget to bring a huge bunch of flowers for your wife afterwards - I think I got several years worth of brownie points for doing that 🙂

( I was out mtbing when I got the call - I've never ridden so fast though that wasn't great as I was absolutely knackered even before the whole process started...)

Good luck mate! My wife is 34 weeks today (twins) and every time the phone rings I think it will be her going into early labour!

Best of luck. Labour can go on for quite some time before anything starts happening, so run her a warm bath or two. And then get out on your bike :-).

Clearly a man with an STW forum addiction!

Let's see if he still has time when the nappies need changing and the baby needs feeding 24/7.

First few days is hectic as I recall.

are you sure it's proper labour. I think my wife had 2 or 3 false starts first time round.

If you're sure - settle in for a long day, and my advice would be to stay at home as long as you can, whilst not obviously leaving it too late.

And don't watch Sound of Music twice through like I had to.

From start of stage one labour to 10cm dilated can take around 8 to 10 hours. (You can tell who listened in the ante natal class can't you)?

Now what?

Get yourself to the cash machine, you'll have to buy everyone in the pub a cigar when you get the call to say he/she has arrived.

Ah, that's what they tell you, but a friend of ours 1st born arrived 30 mins after going into labour! He was 6 weeks early too...

My wife went into labour upstairs and couldn't move. Unfortunatley I was asleep on the couch downstairs with the TV on. She shouted for about half an hour before I woke up apparently.

Good luck. Prepare for the best day of your life.

the very best of luck to you and Mrs PCB. Can't say that I enjoyed the birthing process, but I certainly look back and say that it was the beginning of a new chapter in your lifes.

Enjoy the experience Pete.

And DO NOT hug her too close mid pushing, a bite to the nipple really really hurts!

See you thursday night then for usual ride eh??? 😉

Ah trust me on not reading the full thread.......

all my kids were early, eldest by 10 weeks and they're all as normal as me....

And now i've read the full thread.....the first bit of my post become relevant again..

Hey all, still at home 13 hours in.

LOL! After all I heard in the ante natal classes I kinda guessed that might be the case - the midwife kept banging on about spending stage one labour at home.

I guess, though, that twelve hours after his last post with no news, that something has now happened...

Prepare for the best day of your life

Hmm, for me, sitting around for 20 hours feeling like a right spare part was hardly the best day of my life!

Judging by the radio silence from pcb, I think we can safely assume the babby has now arrived.

I bet his house is chaos and stinks of baby sxxt! 😆

First one about 4 hours. Mrs had lunch before a check-up in hospital for a possible problem. 20 minutes after lunch a twinge. Then another 10 minutes later, next one took 9 minutes. And she was off. Ordered her tea just before the stitching started after the event!
Second one took 5 hours and was more normal delivery, no salad tongs involved.

Hey,

After a 31 hour labour and the greatest effort of endurance I have ever seen, my wife gave birth to little boy.

I'm tired and emotional and at home on my own!
