i recently bought the above phone after my ancient one finally died.
when i try to update google apps they just say downloading indefinitely.
i have switched on update over wi fi only in settings for google apps as switched on automatic update in play store but i have to keep resetting or switching off my phone for the apps to start updating again. have also made sure that google etc is updated too.
any idea as to how to sort this as it is most annoying having to constantly restart my phone to update.

How full is your phone?
Have you to use Google file cleaner app?
What age and os version?
It won't do Garmin connect either and Strava is garbage on it.
I have one in a box that's been barely used.
just bought the phone new about 2 weeks ago. the current software version is 8.1.0-130FCN1 what it says on software updates page (is currently up to date).
not a clue why the apps won't update (have been trying now for over an hour for 7 app updates and although some have finally updated,there are still 2 that do not update) most frustrating.
edit have plenty of memory as have a 65 gb memory card along with the onboard phone memory.
Did you update Google play services first?
am not sure tbh if i did? i know that it was one of the updates. the 2 that won't update are google play games and whatapp, they just won't update for love or money.
