We were at the dinner table this evening, and my daughter mentioned the fact that a friend of hers just had her appendix out and that she would be off school for two weeks.

In response, I said that I wished I could have my appendix out (meaning that I wanted two weeks off as well), to which Mrs SR said with some surprise, "Why?"

Before I could explain, my son blurted out, "So he can get his weight down for racing!"

Made me proud, he did. ๐Ÿ˜€ 8)

Haven't you got eight (8!) of the wee nippers?

Law of averages suggests at least one of them must turn out decent

My daughters would probably say 'dad, you're already a lazy ****. The last thing you need is even more time to do nothing'.

I wouldnt reccomend it as a weight saving. Or as time off work actually.

Edit: actually i would reccomend having out whilst healthy because when it goes pop it's grim.

I do, absolutely. I think it might be (one of) the ticket(s) to dealing with the issue I described over on the 'depression and overeating' thread.

Welsh racing tends to be hard to come by, but Gorricks are just about feasible to do as a day trip.
