So I've just unleashed a super dark colour on my living room and need some coping to break it up!

I've just seen the polystyrene ones for the first time... and wondering if they are any good? I want to spend as little as possible on the worlds most boring purchase.. hopefully something chunky and victorian!

Any help?

If you want chunky / Victorian / decent looking then i would avoid polystyrene. Generally looks piss poor.

The higher spec equivalent (I.e not plaster) is polyeurethene. It's light weight and you can fit it yourself (unlike plaster which needs 2 people, and is altogether more trouble some)

Fitting yourself will offset some of the cost. If you absolutely must have the genuine look you will need to go with plaster

Second for the polyurethane stuff - really light, easy to work with, but doesn't dent or snap too easily like the cheapo polystyrene rubbish, or fall off the wall and need three people to fit like the plaster stuff. Reasonably cheap too.
