My ganglion cyst just disappeared

I had grown used to this lump on my wrist. It has been there for more than 10 years. This evening I just noticed it has gone. I went for a three hour ride with some hike-a-bike with my e-bike that, now I think about it, stretched my wrist in a funny way.  And it has gone. Slightly tender where it has been residing all this time. Will probably come back but I’m enjoying it not being there for now.

Anybody else had similar?

I think I had one deep in each wrist, and the doc agreed. It was only visible when I flexed my hand inwards, where there's a lump anyway. It prevented me from doing press-ups on my palms for about a decade. Then it seemed to gradually get better but apparently my wrists lost the ability to flex that way due to lack of use so they now need stretching out.

Did you hit it with a bible?

IIRC they are just fluid filled so can burst and disappear hence the old wives tale of hitting them with a bible to make them disappear

I think technically any holy book will work, although you really have to whack at it hard with a rolled up Watchtower.

Sort of.  Had one for over 20 years which has reduced significantly in size of its own accord in the last year.

It used to be about the size of a small grape on my wrist. Quite a prominent and visible lump. It's now a barely perceptible, very slightly raised area. In the past I was able to push it back in with a bit of pressure, but it would alway reappear after a day or so.

I had one, whacked it on the table and it went. Came back once, again whacked it, and it's never come back.

I had one on the top of my foot near my toes which started off around the size of a malteaser after about 12 months it was a monster and ran the entire length of my foot from the ankle down into one of my toes. Was quite painful due to the size squeezing the insides of my foot and being pinched when I bent my toes, so had it surgically removed and now have a rather large scar.

I had one about halfway up the tod edge of one foot then last year it just vanished. It's come back but nowhere near as big thankfully.

Bloody horrible things, I've had it since 2008, not great for certain fits of shoe.

I had one on my wrist - it went after I fell off my bike and landed heavily. When I noticed I assumed it was the impact force popping the sac - I was distracted by a broken hip so can't be sure, though.

I've had them in my wrists for ~20 years. I recall being told if they disappear / if you wack it, then rotate / flex your wrists every so often to try and stop them just reappearing. No idea if that works.

I needed an op on my foot to remove mine when it swelled enough to make some shoes uncomfortable. I lost sensation in the upper outer area of my right foot due to the nerve being cut during the op.

Ganglion came back after a couple of years but feeling never has 😔
