Run out with the aid of a glancing blow to Steve Smith's nuts. Does it get any better?
Mitchell Starc could be a tad intimidating on this wicket, I think.
just occupy the crease!

just occupy the crease!
You're thinking of a different team, unfortunately... 🙁
Tidy start. Controlled.
But it’s England.......🙈
Surely even England can't stuff this up now can they?
Required run rate down to 4. Current run rate: 5.8
10 wicket win ??
will you please shut up I have a ticket for the final
Nah you're alright.... today these two are seeing the ball, as if it was a beach ball !!
I'm not saying nothing.
It’s spitting
England currently thrashing the old enemy in a World Cup semi-final with their best 1 day team ever in a stadium full of empty seats and most of the country don't even know it's happening. :-/
I'm English, I can always find the negatives!
It’s not that empty!
That's 50 for Roy. Unfortunately rain approaching, raintoday.co.uk shows a band coming in from the west.
I like this.
RM.
THAT'S 8
Oh my goodness this is a massacre
What an over.
That's a quality senior player there, doing his bit to make Starc feel better about his shitty figures 😄
ESPNcricinfo's win predictor is at 99.61% apparently. I'm starting to think we might be in with a chance here...
Spoke too soon, the collapse has started! 😯
Crikey! Required run rate is now 3. Three! after just seventeen overs.
Oh, JB's gone. 😕
Spoke too soon, the collapse had started!
Absolutely, England are more than capable of losing it from here.
Aus look dejected
Collapsing....
Urgh
Pray for rain after the end of this over?
Surely even England can't stuff it up from here??? Terrific stuff so far
Aaagh! Bairstow used up the review for plumb LBW now Roy is incorrectly given out and can't review it.
Roy was rightly fuming
Unlucky Roy. Why did Bairstow waste that review? It was plumb middle stump, you could tell before the replay!
RM.
Absolute shocker of a decision - as was Bairstow's for the plumbest ever LBW

Where's that rain??
It’s falling but lightly
I repeat: even England can't mess this up

SHUT
UP

They have done before and they will do again. Never, ever underestimate the ability of the English cricket team to shoot themselves in the foot.
Sweet Caroline
ho ho ho
Warner Warner whats the score
And that, my Australian friends, is one hell of a beating.
Good job England.
Done. See, never in doubt, I always had faith in the team...
It wasn't a big chase, but they played like it was. See you for the Ashes.
Told you!
Cracking day, so glad I was there, awesome atmosphere and now I have a very sore throat! Hope Archer, Roy and Bairstow manage their injuries and get through Sunday. The match will be on free to air TV
That was outstanding! Utterly brilliant performance and entertainment, especially so when handing the Aussies their arses on a platter 😁
Out of interest, that Carey fella looks quite handy with the bat and behind the stumps, will their test squad feature him? If so, what will Paine do?
I was there too houns
Australia absolutely put to the sword by a ruthless England, buoyed by their performances againt India and NZ that kept them in the tournament. Aussies were on a downer after losing to South Africa, and on a bogey pitch for them (Edgbaston has traditionally been kind to England in times of need).
To go out chasing 4.4 an over and polish it off at more than 7 an over just hammers home what this England team can achieve when they believe in themselves!
Nothing is a foregone conclusion (take NZ vs India yesterday!) but I do think that NZ will need to bat first and set a huge score to stop England in the final... Even then, England have proven they have it in them to chase it down too.
FWIW Bairstow and Roy looked in incredible form today, until JB pulled up with a Hamstring issue. From that point he struggled, and he should not have reviewed that decision (I think he thought he hit it). Roy looked imperious! Poetry in motion with the bat, and it was a massive shame to lose him to such ridiculous circumstances. The only way to stop Root scoring a 50 seems to be to make sure there isn’t enough runs left to chase (high and dry on 49 today!) and even captain inconsistency managed to hit a few today...
Anyone got a spare ticket for the final?!?!
I chuckled when the DLS par score was almost half England’s at the time
What a great way to set-up the first test at Edgbaston; will be there for first two days. Could be start of new era - Cook retired, Jimmy and Broady coming towards the end, lots of one day big hitters with potential but unproven in the long format.
Interesting, very interesting - thanks Barry Davies.
I’m having withdrawal symptoms, I’ve listened to every cricket game of the World Cup, having to wait until tomorrow is causing anxiety. I’m going to be at a loss at the end of the Ashes!
Good to see someone saw sense and it’s on terrestrial tv. Channel 4 .
I’m out riding in Tignes - our chalet has freeview, and it’s Bastille day Party in Le Brev!!
A busy day ahead!
looking like a good toss to win if that rain disappears and it all turns dry later
Radio 5 on. Out for supplies as soon as shops open then I’m not moving from the sofa for the rest of the day. Win toss and bowl
My missus has already started tutting about my occupation of the sofa.ha.
We’re a couple of mile north of Lords,it chucked it down earlier so I’d definitely put them in.
I used to do anxiety really well, so well in fact, that even since giving up the addictive behaviour I still get the occasional bout, albeit short lived. I am dealing with one right now... and they all start with the ‘what-if?’
What if England have peaked too early?????!! Do you see my dilemma?! 🤪
Supplies got in record time, I’m not budging now. 50:50 split on the radio whether to bowl or bat first, I’m still saying bowl
NZ win toss and bat
Morgan didn't sound too miffed to have lost the toss, almost as if he got what he wanted anyway.
I think I’d have bowled, it may well swing early and England have done a lot of good work chasing. Good toss to lose.
Anderson said bowl, that’s good enough for me
Yesss!
Edit
Noo!
Plum!
FFS
I have had to move the safa into the room with the telly so Mrs TJ ( the cricket fan in this house) can hide behind it
But have you tutted yet?
middle stump
Phew! (Someone wake the stw hamsters up)
Watching cricket on free to air telly! 😁😁😁
My only mild grumble is the time delay between the picture arriving and TMS already having described the delivery. I much prefer the TMS commentary.
Does Jofra always bowl slightly short of a length? Someone needs to have a word with him, he’d be devastating if he pitched it up a bit
No, everyone saying he needs to pitch it up a bit.
The delay was annoying at the game on Thursday, was at least a ball behind the live action.... At least it gives you chance to hear what happened then look at screen to watch it, you won’t miss anything
England are drifting a bit now, and that is dangerous with Williamson around and accumulating. With the amount of movement I think England should have two or three wickets on the board by now......
Agreed.. Though Wood is building up so fingers crossed for a quick couple
Gah, just taken Rashid for more than a run a ball with limited risk. I don’t want England to have to chase more than about 240 on a sporty wicket...
Yep.Need to keep it below 5 an over otherwise it’ll be a nervy afternoon.

I've used the pause button to sync tms with ch4 🙂
England seamers, bar Woakes, all pitching too short. IMHO of course 😉
Pausing the DAB radio?! There’s an idea! 😉
Yesss!!
Everything was getting flat, Barmy army trying to get some atmosphere going... We needed that!
Oh I say !!
You beauty!! Come on now!
Glad to see Stokes come on
