They will have to bat quite a bit for quite a long time - and the RRR is now 9.44...

Yep, they've given up, they just want a certain total with wickets in hand to ensure their mathematical qualification for the semis. It's a shame you are going to lose situations where teams properly go for it in positions like this (or at least, the position they were in 10 overs ago).

Be good if we can skittle them for half our score

Are NZ even going to bat the full 50 overs? Six overs remaining with one wicket in hand ...

I might have had sky go on on my phone at work today. Then I made the labourer tune his fangle Makita radio in to 5 live, he really enjoyed listening to that 🤣

Well we've been in knock out mode for two games now so hopefully that means we will be mentally prepared for the final phases - here's hoping.

Job 1 for ****stan was to win the toss.

Now all they need is to score 400+ & bowl out Bangladesh for 50 odd!! What odds on that....... (sorry!)

Heard that on the radio this morning but no explanation as to why this matters over just scoring 6 zillion more runs that Bangladesh in a limited overs game that clearly isn't going to be affected by the weather.

(Not a cricket fan but went to WI vs AFG at Headingley and thoroughly enjoyed it)

Because if they batted 2nd they could only score 7 more runs than Bangladesh

Australia throw the game for what they see as an easier semi final?

Couldn't be, could it?

Awesome stuff! Phil Neale's a good personal friend of my Dad's and a customer of mine, as he said "to win the World Cup we've got to beat Australia at some point, and Edgbaston's been kind to us so far"...

My view on it is that sadly, Lords has been Australia's home from home for far too long. I'd rather face India there than the Aussies!

I was at Eng V India at Edgbaston last Sunday, awesome victory but the Indians did not take it well at all... An almost instantaneous rematch, I would have had to favour the Indians, certainly if they won the toss and batted first! As it is, if England get to the final, at least it will be on fresh ground and under different circumstances.

Bring on the Aussies (fresh with several injury worries!)! Now let's hope Morgan wins the toss and bats first again!!!

I’m hoping the Indians will dump their tickets, keeping an eye on the icc website! The Aus team looked down and out, with England being on a winning run if the crowd get behind them then Aus will have a tough time of it

Whoop! I managed to get a ticket for Thursday! Thanks to SA beating Aus and the Ind fans binning their tickets..

In other news... Eng Women are having a shocker 😣

After the first round of matches pundits were saying that whoever beats India will win it. So is it NZ for the tournament?

After all, Australia are England's big bogey team, so an Aussie win tomorrow.
And the Aussies go weirdly to pieces against the Black Caps...

hmm I'm not so sure Nicko - England have gone up a gear and beat NZ in the group, wasn't easy per se but was done. I think whoever wins tomorrow should beat NZ in the final (or IND If something amazing happens )

Eng to stuff the Aussies, after their defeat against SA they’ll be feeling nervous

Now to keep refreshing the icc ticket site to pick up an Indian supporters ticket for the final

Looking at the C4 schedule there is no cricket highlights tonight, presumably because of the postponement, but SURELY TO GOD they have to show today's game don't they?!

Not heard much about the wicket but it's meant to be a lovely day here in Birmingham until about 2pm where some light rain is to be expected.

I think much more than 325 will give England a real headache.

Is the script going to be we get out all their dangermen for single figures, then one of their lesser players gets a swashbuckling 100 to post a reasonable but achievable score - then we defy all expectation by posting the lowest ever chasing score?

Yep, and I can even name the player. Alex Carey, he will smash a ton in 75 balls and take it away from us.

Commentator on tms saying 250 is a good target to post on a semi like this.

With England's batting line up 250 seems skittish. Very skittish.

Maxwell gone, 157/6.
Either this looks good for England or the wicket is horrific and we'll get bowled for under 150.
