and now the blue bar with the START bit on it which is usually along the bottom of the screen is up the left hand side, very wide and annoying.
Anybody tell me how to put it back to normal?

Click and hold onto a part of the Start bar which has no programs showing, and drag it back to where it was...

just ask your kids
Right click on the taskbar and tick "lock the taskbar" and it wont happen again!

I came home once from work to find the decimal point on my keyboard had gone awol. I asked my wife about it and she very sheepishly confessed that it had accidentally been hoovered up while she was cleaning 👿
Go back to a typewriter granddad...!!!
(no doubt my kid, when older, will flummox me just as easily!)
