Journey from Arica up to the bolivian border on the altiplano is incredible. You start off in the driest desert in the world and end up in alpine type scenery. There is a mad wee train that does it. Beware the altitude sickness tho. The strange stone formations both natural and laid out by the incas ( geoglyphs) are worth seeing as well

When in Santiago, take a day trip to Valparaiso. Well worth the visit.

Yeah, Valpariso is great. I fully recommend visiting, taking a few lifts, hitting some cafes. Very nice.

ok...
the word on the street in santiago is..

wild: Hit Bella vista hard, with pisco, coke, gays, straight, girls, boys, ending up in a illegel club where the bang bang flows soooo freely, going home about 10 am.

culture: Visit cerro san cristobal

polite: Go to one of the many cafe, bars in Bellas artes for great food and to watch the beautiful people go by. Oh and have a bevy or two.

You have to see a footy match, went to see Colo Colo play Universedad de Chile total mayhem 😯 just an incredible atmosphere heightened by the tear gas and drumming. Experienced an earthquake as well which was very strange.

Not so sure about the football. Saw some nasty police v hooligans action in the city centre the evening of a local derby.

Have you got time to get down to one of the most beautiful places on Earth?

It's a way down south.
