The GF has just got an Ipod and wants to know what websites people would recommend for;
- File sharing that doesn't screw up your computer
- Listening to music
- buying music

Many Thanks

If she has got an ipod and wants the easiest route then itunes store would be my recommendation.

Amazon MP3 is pretty good. Loads of albums for £3 each.

ST Music if you don't mind torrents

http://www.stmusic.org/

It's a private invite only site but it's open for registration for a couple of weeks. Read the FAQ section as there are strict rules around downloading and uploading.

You need to download a torrent client such as Azureus/Vuze and then you can download from torrent sites.

A good starting place is torrentz.com because it lists searches from lots of other sites. There are often more specific sites like punktorrents or demonoid that have more specific albums you cant find elsewhere.

Hope this helps

I use emusic to buy my tunes. Really good subscription service, all the files are non-DRM (i.e. not copyright protected) so you can do what you want with them. Only drawback is that it doesn't have that much chart music if you're into that stuff.....
