Following on from the speaker cable thread, in which people were talking about what frequencies they can and can't hear, I thought I'd do a little demo for the fun of it. So this is what it sounds like when your high frequencies start to go.
It's a short loop that plays a few times:
Original
Nothing over 10kHz
Nothing over 8kHz
Nothing over 6kHz
Nothing over 4 kHz
ONLY frequencies above 10 kHz
*notes for geeks: yeah there is resonance at the filter frequencies, I just used a bog standard 48 dB/oct LPF. Also this was done on a 320k mp3, and then exported back out as another 320k mp3. And Dropbox's built-in previewer is a pile of shite so download the file for a better result.
