I intended to start a similar thread with a planned trip to the Alps this summer, so following with interest.

Also following with interest and SWMBO and I are having a bike hol this year but with the added complexity of a pre-existing medical condition.

From looking at older threads, there's lots of providers, some who come and go out of favour!

We’ve used Pedal Cover. Never had to make a claim though so haven’t tested it out.

(I’ve also just taken out home & bike cover with them - not travel though but probably will for our summer hols).

i used pedal cover last year, if you have a pre-exising condition then they direct  you to another insurance company  you pay them for a policy then that gets linked to your pedal cover policy  had to do this due to dvt in leg after covid jab !!! - and having to take blood thinners before and after any flights

Thread  reminds me i need to take insurance out for MTB trip out to las vegas, phoneix, tusocn, cortez, moab, fruita and st george  this april..

Does general travel insurance not cover you?

I've just taken out a policy for a trip from Oz to Europe and Mtb riding is not excluded (racing is obv and lots of other 'extreme' sports).

Lift assisted DH riding tends not to be.

I've always used Dogtag for trips to whistler, but not been for a few years now *cries*

I get "free" travel insurance with bank account. It's about £40 extra a year to boost it up to cover enduro style riding.  When I spannered myself in Spain last year I just needed to show my European Health Card. See you at Málaga airport if you're that markhammil

Used Big Cat for us and sons on backpacking years. We've great experience of an MTB accident claim (he landed a hip in Morzine from 4metres up fist first and needed multiple stitches) which was sorted really quickly.
