there's a circular gravel route on the Giro website (Belgie) that's easily reachable from Cobham - nice tracks and countryside but not really MTB

https://www.girocycles.com/pages/local-loops

There's plenty similar in the area on Esher Common, over on Epsom Downs, but best bet for proper MTB is up via Bookham and onto Ranmore Common, but I don't know many routes up there these days.

If driving then you could park at Peaslake and ask someone or follow your nose. Or tons on the internet.

From Cobham cycle to Downside, take the Bookham Rd track to Bookham ponds and then cycle through Bookham to the roundabout on the A246 / B2122 (Bocketts Farm). Then take the Admirmals trackway which will take you up to Ranmore and look on Trailforks for the trails there or look out for some locals.

Yeah Esher Common if you are looking for something quick. Plenty to explore and lots of jumps made by the locals. Most of the stuff around is gravel but Ranmore common is your best bet for some gnar.
