I need holiday insurance for a MTB holiday to the Alps including uplift by van and ski lift.  Anyone been unfortunate enough to have good or bad claims experience to steer me towards/away from any specific insurers?  I previously used Yellow Jersey but some stories on this forum mean I did not renew, though I have never needed to claim so have no personal experience good or bad.

Black Cat travel were great for a few group trips I ran to Morzine - paid up quickly for a few claims we had to make - check their excess though - we got caught out the first time but paid a little more to drop the excess for the other trips

Black Cat travel

Should that be ‘Big Cat’?

I had a crash in whistler and an afternoon in a bunch of devices I don't remember.

Dogtag finally settled the £3500 bill 9 months later.

So + paid the bill

- took 9 months. Glad I wasn't in hospital waiting for the money to come through!

We've used Cover4U successfully twice. Both kids in Morzine with broken bones and they've paid out for all the (posh private Avoriaz) hospital treatment and even unused days on the lift passes.

Mountain biking is a standard category of cover as long as you have a helmet on, aren't above 2500m and aren't racing. No mention of uplifting or lift-based riding being an issue.

Much cheaper than dogtag/yellow jersey etc too.
