I have a generic mp3 player (same style as an Ipod shuffle)
Controls are FF and RWD - that is it, when its on it plays.
The question is - the files are drag and drop from my hard drive, how does the mp3 player know in what order to play the songs (always the same btw - no shuffle option)?

As Al says, by listening to the order you should be able to determine whether it is using filename or ID3 info for track ordering.

probably id3 tags as filename doesn't make a difference. I will have a pop at editing them and see 🙂
