We've not got the date for moving in just yet, but what can I sort in the house I've bought before moving in? Phone? Internet? Gas and leccy? Passport and driving license?

Are most of these things you're meant to do on the day you get the keys?

tbh I would not do anyting until you get the keys as sales can and do fall through.

If you jump the gun you are likely to annoy the sellers - when I sold last year the buyer was trying to take ownership of the phone line and broadband three weeks before completion. It took hours of wasted time to convince BT that I still owned the property.

Surely once contracts have been exchanged?

On the day you get the keys, you're ok to move all your stuff in. When that's done, you are obligated BY LAW to sit in the comfiest bit of furniture with a huge glass of booze and/or a joint, sit back and go "aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh" 🙂

What I've done in the past is do a little spreadsheet to make sure I do it all. Just gather up the phone numbers and sort it all in the following weeks, giving them a moving in date. My driving licence was done 2 weeks back, I've lived here for 2 years 😆

Wait till you've exchanged, I can sort you out your gas, electricity, phone, broadband and home phone so it comes on one bill. With a price promise and 10% of your bill in the first year, oh and I can do really good deals on mobiles too.
Drop me a line if you want to know more.

Generally, a "chill out" then!

I'll busy myself with man things like painting and assembling furniture, and she can put in the phone calls.
