What other android phones at the same price point compare/beat spec wise.
Camera and screen are top of my agenda with speed.

Bit worried about longevity due the the China link tho - real life concern?

Xiaomi A2 lite 64GB/4GB, £124 from Amazon warehouse recently. Seems very good compared to my last 3 Motos which all had odd qwirks.

Nokia 7.1 or 8.1 worth a look. Though not sure if the camera is much good. They are Android One, so should get some updates.

I've just replaced an honor 9 that got smashed up with a Nokia 7.1, 154 on Amazon, fairly impressed so far. Really liked the honor, and would have replaced like for like but the Chinese thing is in the back of my mind

After owning a G3 and a G5 I recently bought a G7. Can't fault it.

Nokia 7.1 - added bonus is it has a compass whereas the Moto phones don't

I am looking at similar, the G7 power vs the Nokia 7.1 and apart from one being based around long battery, I can't see too much difference. Both get very good reviews

Lg have an offering at a similar price point iirc. I sacked off the Moto due to glass back. Pocophone F1. Excellent piece of kit. May be over budget, but it's damn near pixel 3 spec with a few nice additions the pixel didn't have. Recommended.

Should add, camera is great ( same sensor as the pixel ) and I typically have 50% or more battery at end of day.

I bought a G7 power for £159 from Argos but took the next day as it was advertised as having NFC but when I switched it on it didn't have it, so no contactless - no good to me.
Looked at a Pixel 2 but ended up with a Samsung S8 for £230 sim free - well pleased with it.

Does the compass point the right way or is it 180 degrees out?

It was one of the reasons I returned my Nokia 8 for a refund.

I've just bought a g7 power. Awesome not needing to charge it all the time.
