I have just bought a G6 to replace my HTC, mainly following recommendations on here. So I know a few people have one and I hope someone may be able to help me with an issue.
I am on a Vodafone contract but we have very poor service inside the house. I am getting incessant warnings regarding loss of service every time it drops out, sometimes every few minutes. The noise is becoming unbearable. I can't find anywhere to turn off the notification and spent about an hour with a CPW tech support line who couldn't help either. I don't know if it is a Vodafone or a Motorola issue.
Any help would be appreciated.
Under Settings / App & Notifications, there is probably a Vodafone app which is doing the alerting. You can select this, then select App Notifications and silence it.
I have a G5, on android 8.1 so it should be the same
Try sound settings > sound effects > then uncheck "sound when roaming." This worked for me!
Try not being on Vodafone. That fixed the continual reception issue I was having.
Can you turn on Wi-Fi calling?
On my phone, Wi-Fi > more settings > Wi-Fi preferences > Advanced > Wi-Fi calling. Then enable Wi-Fi calling and Wi-Fi preferred options.
Long click on the notification itself to switch that app's notifications (or the sound) off.
Thanks guys. I tried changing the sound effect to something less obtrusive. Also Vodafone app allowed me to turn off the notification dot, whatever that means. And long click on the notification allowed me to change importance to medium which has no sound. Now just waiting to see if any have worked.
