I've just acquired my first motorcycle of my very own! Whoo hoooo! It's an old GS500 but it was free and it's in good condition.

So, I'll be doing some insurance quotes the usual comparison websites. Any companies that I should looks that don't usually appear on comparisons websites?

Ebike have been great for me 5 out of the last 6 year.

Wicked Quotes were the best this year.

Thanks all. Carole Nash came up trumps. Cheapest by far to include breakdown and legal cover on a tpft cover.

When I last looked, there was Carole Nash, Adrian Flux, and the rest.

On examination, CN and AF both gave me the same quote for the same policy. The only difference was, CN bundled all the 'value added' options like breakdown cover into the quote without asking me (or telling me I could remove them and save money), and AF offered me the basic policy and the options separately. For that reason, I went with AF.

On the downside, I have season to suspect that AF sold my email address to a bunch of spammy bastards ("The Trading Floor"). So on reflection, I'd recommend Adrian Flux with the caveat that you should give them a disposable email address.

Bike insurer for quotes, Always ends up being MCE insurance as cheapest provider for me.

Not had a very good experience with Bennets and felt ripped off at the end of it all so I would avoid them at all costs.

I've not had a good experience with CN either. Some chap went into back of me on Nurburgring and although perfectly within my rights to be there, CN decided to not renew my insurance. No claim by me (not a mark on my bike), but it was seen as 50/50. Happy to take your money, until they have to shell out.

Not sure what others are like, as I've never claimed with other companies, but I did find that insurance quotes can get cheaper if you phone them instead of just relying on online quotes. Currently with Express, and have been for about 3 years now.

Price Comparison websites!!!!!!!
Elephant do bike insurance and when I thought I could go no cheaper on our scooter (£125) they got it down to £75.

Also try manufacturers own insurance Ducati insurance, Triumph insurance etc. They are very good if you qualify! 🙂

Carole Nash's breakdown cover is way better than most btw, rather than using one of the big names it's all smaller local garages- which probably does make it more variable but means no useless call centres, no being sent an AA van when you need a relay, no "We can't find you" ever...

Been with Carole Nash for quite a few years now. Used their recovery a few times and had good service, although can't comment on how they deal with claims.

Cheers, Rich

I'm pretty certain my new documentation for my Carole Nash policy says the breakdown cover is AA.
