At times it's shocking how wooden
Brando and Steve McQueen could be.

Every actor in any soap. Utterly rotten, laughable, why do people watch soaps? I don't get it.

Nobody mentioned Tommy Wiseau?

Bear in mind this is supposed to be a serious movie.

The Room - Worst film ever.

Cynthia Rothrock... Dear gods, I remember her films from years ago. Those were the heady days of Vince Murdocco, Chuck Norris and Steven Segal (before he got fat). Great days, appalling acting.

Arnie?
I'll pretend you didn't say that!!

Despite Nick Cage being added in the first few posts, I can't get my head around how his thread has run for 3 pages ๐Ÿ˜†

No one mentioned Russell Crowe yet?
He's truly awful.

And the girl who played Amy Pond - two expressions: Shocked or bored.
Much like most of the audience.

I think I've only ever seen KK in Love Actually and the pirate films.
I thought she was pretty good, tbh. ๐Ÿ˜

Oh and Bend It Like Beckham too - she's not THAT bad is she?
I'll have to keep an eye out.

I like if you leave a thread long enough it'll degenerate into pure trolling.

I'd argue that cage and reeves (who both IMO have some very good films behind them), are not wooden but suitable for a very specific type of role. Arnie is another one. They're good at what they do.

Personally (and I appreciate that ironically, this could be interpreted as trolling), Richard Burton never moved me.

Nicholas Cage(b.Nicolas Kim Coppola) is the same in almost every film. "Lord of War" was quite good although, as above, his 'acting' possibly suited the role rather than him moulding himself into it like Daniel Day Lewis or Christian Bale might have done.

Christopher Walken

How dare you!

I knew I would get that reaction. Not trolling. I don't dislike Christopher Walken. But I don't dislike Keanu Reeves, Nicolas Cage or any of those guys either.

They do all however display a similar type of, well, what I have come to learn from my peers, as 'woodenness'.

It's a curious thing that it's usually the well respected actors that are described as wooden. It's almost synonymous with greatness. Sh*t actors are just sh*t. They're never described as wooden.

think there's actually two Nic Cages. Maybe he's got a twin brother or something.

One is the batshit-crazy Nic Cage. The other seems to be carved from mahogany. In batshit mode he's actually pretty entertaining and a decent actor, the rest of the time they could readily replace him with some laminate flooring.

I think the distinction is the script, and the amount of money on the table, the inverse square law seems to be involved with many of Cage's films.
Hayden Christiansen definitely sits on the top of the pile for pretty much the worst actor going.

When my wife used to watch Casualty there was a guy who played a male nurse who was embarrassingly wooden.

A quick google has produced this picture of him -

By 'wooden' do you mean playing the same character in every film?

John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Steven Seagal, Meg Ryan, Demi Moore, Goldie Hawn are just a few. And isn't Tom Hanks always just Tom Hanks and not forgetting 'The Grand Daddy of them all' Jack Nicholson?

Oh and Point Break is a masterpiece ๐Ÿ˜‰

ps. nearly forgot Marlon Brando
