Can't believe it. We were going to Greece, but it fell through and a chalet just outside Morzine came up.

2 girls 8 & 13. Love outdor stuff. There is the pool with flumes, which will be great. Ice rink from memory. MTB of course. There's an outdoor lake and new indoor pool. Zipwire.

Trying to give the wife a rest and sorting activities for a week tonight.

Anyone had some good experiences with kids stuff?

Just come back from there,
canyoning,
high rope stuff- at the waterfall at the les joup plane end of town)
biking(obviously),
walking
Lake at Les Gets is great.

Rent a road bike and ride joup plane for yourself - awesome descent back down .....

Cheers andyfla. That sounds great. Off to work out where they are.

The wife is taking her road bike & I'm thinking of using it + hiring a mountain bike.

Rather jealous,
There is a morzine card ( cant remember proper name ) dead cheap - about 4 euro which gives you loads of stuff- you need the premier one for the pool (( about 6euros)

I just came back on Saturday..ace time.
The passes are "multi-pass". If the accomodation provider is accredited to the scheme these cost 1Euro per person per day for the basic one, covering buses and lift passes, 2 Euro per day to include the pools, big one in Morzine and brand new one up in Avoriaz.
Also includes ice rink access.
I would defo recommend a day trip to lac du montriond swimming lake. Just a 10min bus ride from pleny bus stop in morzine (free with the pass). Stunning setting.
Lots of hiking trails, good one is from the top of zore lift over to Avoriaz.
The tourist information centre in town is very useful and publishes the "animation" guide to activites every week, for the coming week. This listed loads of stuff for kids, from treasure trails around town to woodoworking workshops.
All in all, a top place for a family holiday with a few days riding thrown in. Have fun.

oh yes, to get to Avoriaz without a walk, pick up the bus timetable from the tourist info for the free shuttle bus from the car park at the top of Super Morzine lift. This takes you to Avoriaz in the absence of the Prodain lift this season.

If you kids were French they'd be given to some teenagers for the summer and marched around the mountains. This is why the French have no fat kids - they get left behind.

Plenty of Pony trekking type things which I'd guess might appeal to the girls.

Is the new avoriaz pool/flume complex caleled Aquariaz? - something like that anyhow. the bob luge in Chatel is good fun - not sure if the Morzine one is running. Never tried Deval karts.
