My mum's in a care home and we can't visit physically
They do Skype but their device seems very small and mum's eyesight isn't good. She also has dementia and that combination makes the "calls" quite bewildering for her
I'm going to donate an laptop that my daughter has stopped using (happy for them to use for all their residnets).
I assume they'll want to have their own windows (and hence Skype) account & password on there and I think the easiest way would be to wipe and start afresh - but I don't want them to have to go through multiple cycles of updates (they're less competent than me, and I can't go in to sort it out).
Can any of the "reset" type options within windows delete all accounts but leave the OS untouched ?
Suggest download the windows 10 upgrade tool, select the fresh install from media option and then make sure all windows updates are applied, skype etc installed & setup, before passing it over.
don't you have to register an account before applying updates?

You can then create them a new admin (or more restricted) account for them(think it will leave existing user accounts intact).
Also teamviewer is worth a look, so you can remote control it if need be -I use it to 'fix' my nans pc all the time when she has random panics.
Windows fresh install using the media creation. Trickiest thing I found was getting the laptop to boot from a USB stick.

It would be worth installing TeamViewer and the remote control option before you hand it over. Any problems, all they have to do is boot up, you can connect and sort almost anything as if you were there.
