Lumia 520 if it matters

Just trying to work out whether a used handset would be cheaper than a repair

Depends on Phone, and what's bust. New screen on Lumia 800 was £75.

Depends if its the glass/plastic or the whole interface thats knackered. Mine was £80 to replace the Glass on a HTC One S.

I've been quoted #60 and #120 to replace the screen on my Galaxy S3 Mini, the most expensive one saying that they could just replace the screen due to the way its all fixed together or some such. I figured that its only a small crack on the edge of the screen so I'll live with it.

I've replaced several screens on Samsung phones and a Nexus 7. Kits are available for replacement glass and the tools are just a plastic spreader a micro Phillips screwdriver and a hairdryer.
YouTube videos are your tutor.
Separating the glass from thelcd is the hardest part. If the LCD screen is abpvailable chep enough it is qipuicker and easier to swap both. Although this a depends on how smashed your screen is.

£8 for a Samsung Ace for screen and £38 for screen and LCD display for Nexus 7

Did my Lumia 800 ,about £35 for a complete new screen/digitiser and about 15mins of my time,
only downside was the screen was definitely not of the same quality as the original, good but not great.

Quite surprised how easy it was ,have you searched You tube to see if there are any instructional videos.
