MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
I'm a complete newbie when it comes to Smart Phones but I've taken the plunge and want to do the Strava and Geocaching thing. The problem is that I'm concerned about how much these activities will be using my Broadband allowance (750M/month) as I don't want a ridiculous bill at the end of the month.
Could anyone advise?
Thanks.
Tiny in comparison. Don't panic.
Whilst geocaching and strava-ing, you're mainly using the GPS (which doesn't affect your mobile broadband allowance). If you wait until you are at home/free WiFi to upload & download data (cache points, strava tracks) then that won't hit your mobile broadband allowance either.
Strava will only up/download when you choose to - it's not a 'live' tracker service.
Thanks Gents, now I've just got to beat 4m 51s up Lifton Hill - Game On.
I can recommend c:geo for geochaching.
It's frowned upon because it breaks some T&Cs of geocaching.com by providing features they charge for, but it's easily the best app out there. If you want something that plays 'correctly', GeoBeagle is pretty good too.
