[Closed] Messaging Problems

What is going on with the messaging service on ST?

I don't seem to be able to reliably send or receive messages to/from other members. I do however get emails telling me that so-and-so has sent me a message but when I look there is no message there.

The only way to communicate regarding the classifieds seems to be to post an open reply or publish my email address and switch to off-site communications.

Am I simply using the site wrongly or is there a real problem?
