It's been possible for some time to tag folk in posts using the @username format. However, I've recently started receiving a notification email when this happens with my name. Has this been around for a while and I've only started receiving these now or is it a useful new feature recently added?

Do you think that could get annoying @scotroutes

I notice one or two other forums have it so it's probably just something that's been turned on. I think it's a variant on "X has replied to your post" type notifications.

-1 to a like button, this isn't Facebook and long may it remain so.

Yeah, it did occur to me that it could be abused 😊

I haven't seen an "off switch" for it either.

Oh, very switch off onable. I shall keep my abuse of the system to that one occasion rather than be 'one of the 90% who spoil it for everyone else' (©pictonroad)

I wondered how long it'd take for a thread to appear. It's been in place for about a week, as others have said you can disable it in settings if you don't like it.

Could be handy, just need to clear the notifications backlog!

I got my first one a couple of days ago and immediately thought it was just my senility that had stopped me remembering that it had always done that.
