As per the title, are there any decent pubs close to the MEN that won't be totally overun prior to the Radiohead gig? Also we're staying down near picadilly is it worth getting a week metrolink ticket if we'll be back and forward a few times? (no prices on their website - useless)

Theres two- very close to each other a stones throw away; Sams Chop house, Mr Thomas Chop House or one of the Marble pubs (Northern Quarter) or tup from MEN.

No need for any tram ticket TBH.

The marble arch or / and the Angel. Short walk and will be quiet, the marble is the original marble pub (micro brewery) and is well worth a visit if you like real ale.

Downside is you are in the arse end of town. Sam’s chop house is very nice is in the centre of town and will be packed.

Stay away feom The Printworks arcade and you'll be fine - very overpriced.
Lots of nice pubs in the Northern Quarter.

No need for a tram, 10 - 15 mins walk to MEN.

What uwe-r said. The Castle on Oldham Street is good too. You basically can't go wrong inthe Northern Quarter.

A tram ticket is a few quid. I'd get one as a matter of course. Don't go out in Picadilly unlesss you're looking for hooker, or to get glassed by a bloke called Baz from Wythenshawe

Don't go out in Picadilly

This is the kind of advice I was after

10 - 15 mins walk

Depends what shoes Baz is wearing

Close enough to the MEN to walk from (unless it's your first night in high heels) but not right next so it won't be rammed.
