MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
So my wife is struggling to make blog posts the way she wants. She has used blogger previously, but the online editor keeps cocking up formatting and last night, with a long post with lots of images and text layout, it went mental and formatting was pretty much impossible.
So we're looking for alternatives to using the built-in editors for these sites. We have Word 2007 which allows formatting well enough, but it won't work with blogger, just Wordpress. The main problem though is that she'd rather use her Chromebook so something online would be better.
There is a way to publish a Google Doc to a blog site but all it does is create an iFrame with the doc in it, which is a bit shite.
Why not just type the post directly into blogger? Getting photos into the right order / size is a bit of a faff but the end result is perfectly presentable.
Shameless blog plug...

Are you using the Blogger app or Blogger full-screen?

As mentioned, it keeps farking up the formatting. Don't ask me why. But it really was properly screwed last night, so it's either really really cryptic or broken.

Dunno. She went to blogger.com in Chrome, I tried adding the Chrome app to my Chrome but it seems to be identical to what she was using.
What she's trying to do is make a tutorial with a load of images down the right and corresponding text on the left, like a table.
Ah sorry, misread that. The interface is a bit crap - if you start with a block of text (about 300 words is ideal for SEO purposes) and follow that by uploading all your images, it works well enough.
Mixing up text and images will generally result in a massive ****ing shambles.
Lots of my wedding photographer friends use Blogstomp - certainly looks good but I've never felt the need to try it.
Doing it in the html editor shouldn't be too difficult assuming you're after something like this

Lolz.. Big fuss on the internet that Google removed the publish to blog button from Google docs. However it turns out you can simply copy and paste out of Google Docs into Blogger and all formatting is perfectly preserved, including tables and images!
Move to Wordpress, like any sensible human being.
I tried Wordpress but if SEO is important to you (especially in relation to Google Images) then Blogger is streets ahead (IMHO). Even if it is a pain to implement and doesn't look very nice 🙂

No sensible human being uses php through choice.
Try bloggsy. It's an app, and very good.
