Am I the only one here that doesn't want the trails to come alive?
I want them to lie nice and still so I can ride over them.
My riding abilities are stretched enough as it is without the trails wriggling about all over the place 😉

There's an easy answer.
Don't buy a bike with 650B wheels.

Maybe it's how 'aggressive XC', as some here have defined their riding style, came about - because the trails did indeed come alive..?
