What do other people buy in a month? I think i might have OCD after I totted up what i've bought:

EVO
Singletrack
Mojo
Uncut
Wired
Total Film
Empire
Top Gear
XBOX 360 Gamer
Stuff
Guitarist

at an average price of 4 quid, thats £44 give or take in a month.....what a waste. I've taken a subscription with Wired and will go cold turkey on the rest.......jebus that's a lot of tat cluttering up the house

I used to be a magazine fiend, but as more magazine-style content is available online, I have cut back almost completely.

Now, I take:

Singletrack - subscription
Rouleur - subscription
Ride Journal
Intelligent life (maybe twice a year)

Of these, only Rouleur and Ride Journal are kept. The rest are recycled.

My subscriptions:

What Digital Camera
Singletrack
Ride - well I order it as there's no subscription
Privateer - 2nd issue is off the the printers
Top Gear - Xmas present from MIL

I may occasional pick up Empire or a gadget type one from a shop.

generally only buy mags if im going on a long plane/train journey ...

once bought FHM and nuts for the guys i was working with in africa as they asked me to bring out the new ones when i came back .... i tried to read them on the plane - it was like reading an argos catalogue with boobs haha - you must have this gadget in your life !

Ourmaninthenorth: Rouleur gets GOOOD money on ebay!!
Nowt occasionally Tri 220, Runners World or Marie Claire (which I then realise is just full of perfume or expensive clothes adverts).

Singletrack
C+ (some interesting stuff... but don't need a full catalogue of every bike availabel in the UK each month 😕 )
just cancelled Linux Format, cos it was verging on extortion (and all the freebie stuff is available c/o broadband a good 2 months before the bendy cover DVD)
cancelled everything else years ago. might pick up the occasional Top Gear mag or MBR/MBUK etc. if in the UK.

Subscribe to Evo (have done for years) and Dirt (taken out for the free chainguide offer). Usually buy Fast bikes, and occasionally buy MBUK, MBR, Singletrack and Rhythm if there's something I want to read. Used to buy a lot more, but really cut down a couple of years ago when I realised I was spending £40+ a month.

I only buy Singletrack now. It's the only bike mag I find suits my cycling interests and I still think it's always a good read.

Used to buy MBR, What MTB and the odd MBUK and occasional music magazine, but decided it was a waste of money as most of the time I only read the odd article.

I get the missus to flirt Dirt out of the lbs - wouldn't buy it very often if I had to pay for it. Other than that, Ride Journal, Evo very occasionally.

It's a quarterly lifestyle magazine from the Economist. there's some interesting things in there, but I only buy it when I need something lightweight and fluffy.

Cancelled all my subs to magazines, much too expensive for the content and then just to get binned

Got a stall in our local market that sells month or two old magazines for a quid each or three for two pound fifty. Bought fifteen quids worth of photography magazines there this week for £2.50, does for me

Subscribe to C+, every now and then I buy a Spanish MTB mag, occasionally the Economist, and the Spanish edition of BBC History.

Been trying to cut down, like the OP if I'm not careful I end up spending a fortune on the things.

We used to get The Week and Homebuilding and Renovating.

Cancelled them both about 18 months ago during one of our periodic attempts to de-clutter.

Can't say I missed them.

They really are ridiculously overpriced, however my two favourite are:-

Mini Magazine and MBUK

I'll perhaps get them once every six months, or whenever I have a WHSmiths voucher 😆

I used to subscribe to the Spectator, Thrasher, Whitelines, Skyscraper and Punk Planet

These days I have a subscription to Private Eye and that's it.

I occasionally buy a magazine if I've got a long rail journey.

MBR
MBUK
Singletrack and sometimes Dirt.

Used to buy Ok, More, grazia etc but then realised they were half the problem with my self esteem issues. Funnily enough since I stopped buying them and starting buying magazines that are interesting I've not had the same issues and am much happier. Bikes are the future I tell yee! 🙂

Outside, though my subscription's expired and I'm not sure I can justify renewing it. Weekend Grauniad and Observer. And that's pretty much it. I'm off bike mags. Very occasionally buy house porn and look at glossy pictures of sofas, cushions and unlikely loft conversions, then buy bike components instead.

Still sub to Bike (USA) and Singletrack, but I'm going to let Bike lapse, and I may cancel Singletrack. I used to buy MBUK every month, and Dirt regularly, but I've rather lost interest in bike porn, the only thing I miss about MBUK is Mint, and I really miss that, but I can't justify buying the mag for that one page. I buy Wired and Word, because there's loads to read in them, and Word has a good cd every month.

I subscribe to to the hitherto unmentioned SFX. I tend to buy random mags when they have articles in them that I actually want to read or I'm utterly devoid of reading material, so that might be an Xbox magazine, movies, music, Viz, whatever really.

I don't buy bike magazines cos the other half gets all of them (including a sub to Singletrack of course). She also randomly gets Grazia, Wired, Kerrang, Private Eye, Heat, Q, New Scientist, some weird "send me some random mags" subscription, the Guardian, and christ only knows what else.

Anything she's bought that I might want to read goes onto a pile next to my half of the bed; the pile's easily a foot high right now.

ST subs just ran out - I will be re-subscribing though! Other than that, I buy the occasional armfull of wedding magazines just to see what my clients are being told to expect.... My God, but there's some utter tripe being peddled in bridal mags!

Used to get Evo, Performance VW and MacFormat every month with Singletrack and Cycling Plus occasionally.
Don't bother with anything anymore apart from when we go on holiday.
My wife bought me a Top Gear about two months ago and it is still unread by the side of the bed.
