Working fine today - low supply voltage seems to be a likely culprit.

Check the pins in the magsafe plug that goes in to the macbook. I had one where the springs inside the plug stopped working, so the pins weren't making contact with the terminals on the mac. A temporary fix was to simply tap the plug down on the desk and then plug back in gently. A long term option was a new power supply!
