If we move our mouse in a certain way it zooms the screen in . How do we make the screen go back to how it was?

Sorry to just cut and paste ChatGPT, but I find it really useful for stuff like this (assuming it addresses your problem, of course 🙂

========

It sounds like you’ve accidentally turned on a zoom / magnification feature. How you undo it depends on your system, but here are the most common fixes — try them in order.

🖥️ On a Mac (macOS)

1️⃣ Toggle zoom off (most common)

Press:

⌘ Command + ⌥ Option + 8

This turns Zoom off completely.

2️⃣ Zoom out

If it’s still zoomed:

⌘ Command + ⌥ Option + –

Zoom in (if needed):

⌘ Command + ⌥ Option + +

3️⃣ If the mouse scroll zoom is enabled

You probably held Control and scrolled:

  • Hold Control

  • Scroll down on the mouse or trackpad

Or disable it permanently:

  • System Settings → Accessibility → Zoom

  • Turn off “Use scroll gesture with modifier keys to zoom”

Is this a “Magic Mouse”? The top of it is a trackpad of sorts, and you can do gestures on it to make things happen. Turn off all the fancy gestures and you’ll have a more normal mouse. You only need tap and scroll. Make it simple. I haven’t used a mouse this century myself though… dreadful things that are bad for your health.

While I’ve used Mac computers for years, because I’ve got quite large hands with long fingers, I’ve always found the Apple meeces uncomfortable, my hands start to cramp up after a while. Logitech mice are generally bigger and more comfortable, and always seem to get lots of favourable reviews.

Go to settings: mouse. There is an option for 'smart zoom' where if you double tap with one finger you zoom in - it seems like you might have this enabled.
You can either disable this option, or keep double-tapping to zoom again, then return to normal zoom. It's quite useful when you know what is happening.

As everyone else has said, Logitech mice are better than the Apple one.

Apple trackpads - best I’ve ever used

Apple mice - from the squared off SE30 era, through original iMac, to the Magic Mouse. Ergonomic disasters. Even the most basic Dell or Microsoft mouse is more comfortable.

Magic Trackpad is a delightful piece of hardware to use.

Magic Trackpad is a delightful piece of hardware to use.

Mechanical tenkeyless keyboard, Magic Trackpad + Logitech mx master. Sometimes a mouse is better/more accurate/hands are damp. Actually I’ve just got a separate mechanical number pad for £20 from Aliexpress as well for doing the accounts.

While we're talking about input devices, does anyone use a graphics tablet? I keep seeing people say they're better for (duhh) graphics, but every time you then have to press a key you need to put the pen in your mouth, or behind your ear or something.
