Ok, I have Memory Maps and wanting to set up Boot Camp on my MacBook Pro (Mid 2010) with Intel Core Duo 2, Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard
Whilst setting up Boot Camp it asks for a Windows Installation Disc, this is where I'm a bit stuck. Numpty question below....
Since i don"t have Window's installed i would need to purchase said Software, so off to PC World i need to go. Looking at the Apple site, it suggests I can use XP, so is it a simple case of purchasing the PC version (non Mac version) of XP, and installing the discs. Then loading up the maps.
Any help would be appreciated

You do need a copy if windows to use bootcamp. FWIW I use Paralells do I can use windows and macs program's side by side. Very handy and works very well. Think it cost about £60 online.
Have a look at Virtual Box and go for Windows 7. IME XP is a pain in the backside with all the addons you need for some programmes.
Of course the other question is why you want Memory Map, when there are lots of online alternatives that will work well in a browser on a mac without having to load additional software?
Perhaps he wants to use it on a mobile devise and transfer info back to the desktop machine?

It depends what you want, but for plotting a trail on an OS map, then where's the path ( http://wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath.htm) works well.
Walkhighlands ( http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/maps/) provides similar functionality down to 1:25k for the whole of the GB.
I also use Ascent as an alternative to Garmin's Training Center for logging rides http://www.montebellosoftware.com/
