From a recommendation on here, have been using ClamX, running it regularly and it seems OK.
Is there something better? Heard BitDefender mentioned and Onyx. Any other suggestions (ideally free), that don't need a subscription or cause as many problems as my old Norton AV install?

I’ve not really shopped around but do use Bitdefender, it’s flagged a couple of issues in the last three months but is otherwise transparent in use which for me is quite important.
