Just trying to decide when to head home tonight (south), wondering how bad traffic will be in Brum and south of there.

If you get delayed, just enjoy the view, it's not like it's a bad view you'll get.
You're missing Spaghetti so no real problems and if there are delays come off the Mway, the Yam-yams don't bite (much). 😛

Leave the motorway? And get snarled in even more urban traffic yams?

I guess you're pretty stuffed then. I never had too many problems driving off motorway.

Every time I've tried to avoid rush hour traffic in urban areas by leaving the motorway it's been worse. More junctions, more jams, and even lower speeds.

Traffic is normally fine heading south off the M6 onto the M5. The issue is normally M6 south past spaghetti and the M42 turning.

I always found getting to the turn to be the problem, once your on the m5 its fine, but the M6 might as well be a car park at times.

It's the M6 in brum, it will be packed to the rafters. Do you really need to ask.?

If it's really bad (and it will be because it always is!!) you can nip off at jnc 9 and have a wander around Decathlon to give yourself a breather from the traffic.

You will have to impulse buy several items though and it might be difficult to fit a sea kayak into your car......

Judging by the state of the M5 yesterday it'd be a wise investment.
