I've been doing more and more running recently. Normally, i wear a pair of mesh-lined running shorts, but when its been cold (sub 2deg) recently, I prefer my old Ron Hills. the problem is, what to wear underneath. Cycling shorts just feel better than normal pants, but the pad can get a bit in the way.

Any recomndations for pad-less lycra shorts to wear under Ron Hills, or other shorts. (I have no intention of ever wearing lycra shorts on their own for running)

Not completely unpadded, but I use a set of iRule Ninjas sometimes. There is a pad but it's a very minimal one. Any Tri shorts wil be similar.

I wear Ron Hills all the time, just normal (lined) running shorts unless its very cold then just a pair of either full length tights or a cheapo pair from Decathlon without the pad.

Decathlon 3/4 length here unless it gets really cold, nice warm knees but not too hot.

I have some Kooga ones which I wear underneath shorts etc. for running. (I think they're what rugby players wear under their shorts). Seem to work pretty well.

Despite the obvious piss-taking from my wife, I tend to wear a pair of normal Ron Hill running tights when it's cold out (sometimes with "modesty" shorts if it's daylight). I've also been known to go to the gym in standard running lycra shorts.

To be honest though, I can't be doing with wearing two pairs of shorts just for modesty's sake.

Just get a pair a unpadded lycra shorts from Decathlon or JJB.
