I’ve just discovered that I’ve recently lost all bar 4 sent emails in my sent folder. I use BT internet and usually retrieve on my iPhone (although the sent items are also missing when I log into webmail using a browser). I suspect, but can’t be certain, that it happened sometime in the last fortnight and may have coincided with a recent Apple security update on the phone. Anyone else affected? Trawling Google doesn’t show anything recent but implies if it’s gone from sent items on webmail, it’s gone for good….

Have you checked 'Bin' on PC and on iPhone? (and on webmail)

Yes. Not in any other folder. Bizarre but wondering if I’m the only one. I’ve not authorised it or done it myself, so wondering how it’s happened

Didn't Virgin do something similar recently, following some sort of catastrophic hardware failure or hack???

Were you on IMAP then reverted to POP3 and they all got downloaded somewhere?

I use BTInternet, also GMail and Apple, but as I don’t actually send many emails, it’s almost impossible to say if there’s been any issues, I’m afraid. I have had a look, but I’m pretty sure my last sent mails were more than a couple of months ago.

@GlennQuagmire - thanks, no I didn’t make any changes at all. However, iPhone had an “important security update” at around the time and wondering if that was anything to do with it. Given that it’s gone when I look at webmail via browser, I’m wondering if the problem is BT side. I’ll enquire and will post update if anyone else is affected. I was half expecting a load of people to say “Yeah, me too”, but that looks not to be the case…
