So, I thought I would do the right thing and cycled down to my local Sainsbury's to shop and on route lost my debit card.
Trouble is I'm getting on a train to York in the morning and I bought the tickets online and need the card to collect them at the station machines.
I've heard I can use any card as long as it is in my name but I'm not wanting to get to the station at 9am and find I can't get the tickets.
Tried all ways to contact the railways today but all of the call centres are either shut or point you to the website which doesn't really help at all. Even the chat bot gave up on me.
Anybody know if I can use my credit card to collect or does it have to be the same card I bought with online? FWIW I went through Paypal and haven't tried them yet to see what the options are heading there now.
I think you can use any card, it's an ID check rather than proof of purchase.
We order train tickets for work travel through an outside company, so don't pay ourselves, and can use any card to collect them.
If it's through PayPal you'll be fine.
MCTD has it. IME just chuck in any card and enter then infuriating code on the crappy touch screen 😉
Thanks for that, I asked a train driver mate and he said 'we do have ticket offices still you numpty, show them your confirmation email'
