I have ripped all my music using apple lossless into an iMac, we would like to load a touch with some music - but it is an 8Gb & want to store it as MP3's so as not to fill it up too quickly - do any Mac experts out there know if it's possible to do & keep my original library as lossless?
There's an option somewhere to set itunes to convert to lower bitrate when it puts it onto an ipod....hangon...
think I need to plug a device in to see the setting, and I can't reach one from here. What can I say, I'm lazy! Try it yourself 🙂
I looked again & found it - makes a huge difference, 8.5 down to 1.5 gigs, but transfer seems slow, good job I'm in no hurry.
Being pedantic, transfer will be faster, but as well as transferring it's having to transcode them all as well which is very CPU intensive, so the whole process will take longer.
