But surely thats not going to work? Just cut down on cake and still enjoy it and take 2 months to loose the weight. If you cut out cake for a month, I reckon you will find it hard not to eat the same amount as before and put your stone back on.

If you don't have any body fat calipers use an online calculator, they are accurate enough, better than guessing anyway.

Also, I have met quite a few people who are somewhat overweight rather than obese, and decide to get thin by hitting the gym. They got fitter, stronger and felt better, but didn't lose weight. It's fairly common from what I hear.
If I went to the gym looking like this:
and ended up like this:
I would regard it as a result, no matter what happened to my weight.
Muscle is more dense than fat so if people start putting on muscle, their weight will go up.

I used that US Navy calculator that we all had a crack at a few months ago.
It reckoned I was 9 percent.

Thats different though isnt it, to become a fast racer you need to alter diet and in many ways become unhealthy, but healthy for racing a bike quickly
Well I will most likely fall short of the point where I need to become unhealthy. I suspect that my body fat will level out at a point beyond which I would have to do unhealthy things to myself to get it any lower. At that level, I would be pretty quick I reckon. Maybe I'll pursue it further, but I don't want to become unhealthy. I'll just take up track racing instead where I don't have to be ultra skinny 🙂

yeti exercises cos he loves it, he doesnt count calories, and well... when it comes down to it he was able to enter the trans province and come 11th alongside the worldwide pro's without any training for the event. if his exercise started impacting on his body image, physical/mental health in a negative way then yeah he would be a fool, but the only time i've seen him injured was when he tried a gap drop messing around with jedi and landed short 😆

Years back when I used to train hard, I had to force my self to eat more than pleased me, just to maintain weight.
So - if what pleases you is eating pig like quantities, you stand a fair chance of putting weight on

Very easily and quite accurately.
Work out your lean body mass (involves lots of measuring) and subtract that from your total weight, leaving your BF%.
Alternatively buy some skin fold calipers off Ebay for £3.
Its not as accurate as skin fold calipers, but a lot more accurate than guessing like Solo does.

The reason I ask is that age has a pretty major affect on body composition. Very often younger people are blase as they are still on the way up, as it were.
