so...... my best mate is coming home from christmas and has his dog with him and apparently you can no longer take a dog on the ferry without a car to keep them in. as has always been the case for the tunnel.
i realise there may be some suspicion that the dog may have 10 illegal immigrants hidden in its bum but if you saw his really old dog it will be obvious she isnt some kind of mule and he would of course be travelling with, and the dogs passport links to his.
he is desperate. his mate has let him down and he is really stuck. the dog is really well behaved and loves kids etc

i realize this is way out there but thought the hive mind on here may have some suggestions?

P&O ferries allow foot passengers to book with dogs (with Pet Passport)

You just can't book online. You need to book on the phone.

Why can't your mate drive his car to the UK?

its a long boring story but the quick version is that my mate, scott, has working been in corsica and his friend who is in belgium was coming home for christmas so scott got a train from nice up to see his mate and the plan was to then jump in his mates car, drive to london where scott could get the train home to swansea. but his mate is now not coming home for whatever reason, so scott is wishing he had got his boss to look after the dog over christmas and fly home which his normal route home.

i will be honest, when it comes to travel plans scott isnt the best, i once dropped him at cardiff airport with 3 hrs to spare and he still missed his flight (god only knows how cos there is nothing to do at cardiff airport)

anyway it turns out he can get a ferry with the dog as a footpassanger if he get the ferry to hull but that means he is actually travelling further away from swansea ha ha

ps the reason he hasnt driven all the way from corsica himself is that he has a hilux so it would've cost too much in diesel
