A lovely one I heard was from a friend who was in bed one morning, when the 6 year old offspring wandered in, saw his mother in a bit of a hungover state and announced, "Mummy, you look like someone from Middlesbrough."
The kid had never been to Middlesbrough. To this day, no one knows why he said it, or where it came from!
used to work in stockton....she's right!
My mate used to live in Ingleby Barwick which is closer to Thornaby than Yarm, he always told people 'It's near Yarm'
When asked where I come from in the UK I tell people between York and Newcastle.
we have a factory in Middlesbrough & we used to have one in Stockton. Strangely enough, the factory in Middlesbrough used to be in Stockton, but it moved. It's still known as Stockton though.
